How the directory works

Find

Browse by category or search by service, software or company name. Filter by rating, industry, customer size and country.

Compare

Read reviews scored on questions specific to each category, such as results sustained or ease of use on the shop floor.

Trust

Every reviewer is a signed-in member who confirms they are a client. Paid placement never changes a rating or hides a review.

Questions about the World Opex business directory

A directory of 346 operational excellence consultancies, software makers, training providers and associations, organized in 16 categories so operations leaders can find, compare and review the companies that help them improve.

How do companies get into the directory?

Companies list themselves free from My businesses, and World Opex adds well-known providers from public information. Every new listing is checked before it goes live, and a company added by us stays unclaimed until the company claims it.

Is it free?

Yes, for everyone who uses it, and for companies that want a standard listing. Companies can pay for a Featured plan that places them at the top of their categories with a link to their website.

Does paying change a company's rating?

No. Featured placement is labeled as such and never changes a rating or a review. Ratings come only from member reviews.

How are reviews checked?

Reviewers sign in, confirm they worked with the company and are not associated with it in any other way, and answer the same structured questions. Reviews from members verified through LinkedIn appear straight away; other reviews, and any review our content check flags, are checked by our team first. A company can reply publicly.

How does a company claim its profile?

Open the company's page and choose Claim this listing. If your account uses an email address at the company's domain, you get access straight away; otherwise we verify the request, usually within one working day. You then manage the listing from My businesses.

How to choose operational excellence consulting firms

The right partner depends less on the method a firm names than on whether it has done your kind of work and left capability behind. When you compare operational excellence consulting firms in the directory, these questions help.

Five questions to ask before you hire

  • Have they done this in my industry? Ask for two engagements like yours, with the numbers before and after.
  • Who will actually do the work? Meet the people who will be on your site, not only the partner who sells the project.
  • How will capability transfer? Agree up front how your own people will run the system once the consultants leave.
  • What do their clients say? Read the reviews on their World Opex profile, written by members who worked with them.
  • Is certification part of it? If you need a standard such as ISO 9001, check the firm's experience with that standard and with your certification body.
