Operational excellence write for us: publish on World Opex

World Opex publishes practical writing by people who do the work. If you run, improve or study operations, this is our operational excellence write for us page: publish an article about one problem you solved, or a case study with the numbers, under your own name and for free.

Every piece is reviewed by our team before it goes live, usually within two working days, and you are emailed when it is published.

Guidelines

Length

Six hundred to fifteen hundred words; about twelve hundred is ideal.

Evidence

Your own work, with the numbers you are allowed to share and permission for any company names and images.

Images

Up to 1 MB each and 2 MB in total per piece, resized automatically before upload.

Keywords

Two to eight phrases, each unique on World Opex, so articles do not compete with each other in search.

What we publish

  • Lean, six sigma, TPM, kaizen and continuous improvement in practice.
  • Daily management, standard work, problem solving and visual management.
  • Quality, reliability, supply chain and service operations.
  • Digital operations and Industry 4.0, with results rather than product claims.
  • Leadership, culture and building improvement capability, including in small and mid-size companies.

What happens after you submit

  • Our team reads the piece for substance and accuracy, and checks links, images and keywords.
  • We publish it under your name with your member profile linked, or come back to you with questions.
  • You are emailed when it is live, and you can share it from your profile.
  • Changes to a published piece go back for a quick review; the published version stays up until they are approved.

Questions about writing for World Opex

Do you pay writers?

No, and we do not charge members to publish. Your piece carries your name and links to your member profile.

Can a company write for us?

Company-written pieces are published as partner content, clearly labeled as sponsored. Editorial articles are never paid for.

Can I include links?

Yes, where they help the reader. Links in member articles are marked as user-generated, and links to blocked kinds of sites are not accepted.

Can I write a case study about my own organization?

Yes, with the numbers you are allowed to share and your organization's consent. A piece that promotes a company's services belongs in partner content instead.

How do keywords work?

You add two to eight phrases readers would search for. Each has to be unique on World Opex, so your piece does not compete with another page for the same search.

What makes a piece stand out?

One problem, what you did, and the numbers before and after, written for someone doing the same job elsewhere. Google's advice on helpful, people-first content describes the same standard.
